Team Selection
Each player selects 16 teams – one team from each seed number (one #1 seed, one #2 seed, one #3 seed, etc etc). Players earn points each time one of their teams wins and advances through the tournament. Once a team has been eliminated from the tournament, that team cannot earn any further points for the player. Thus, the longer your teams survive in the tournament, the greater your overall point total will be (pretty simple idea). Teams are not exclusive to individual players. That is to say, Aaron, Jason, and Julian could all potentially pick the same #1 seed. You may even have nearly identical picks to another player in the pool. It could happen.

Trade-Down Exception
One exception to team selection is the trade-down option. A player may trade a higher pick down for a lower pick. For example, if Brett is not confident in ANY of the four #8 seeds, he may trade down that pick for a second #9 seed pick, giving him two #9 seeds in total. This clause does not work in the opposite direction – that is, a player may not trade his #2 seed to gain another #1 seed.

Points System
Round 1 = 1 point per win
Round 2 = 2 points per win
Sweet Sixteen = 4 points per win
Elite Eight = 6 points per win
Final Four = 8 points per win
Championship = 10 points for THE win

Bonus Points

Seed difference determines upset points. An upset win occurs when any lower seeded team defeats a higher seeded team. Example, the #12 team defeats the #5 team = 7 bonus points.

Survivor Pool
Pick 1 team for each day of the tournament (10 days total). If they win you advance. If they lose, you’re out. Each player selects ANY ONE team per EACH day of the tournament (10 days total). Players may only pick a given team ONCE during the tournament. You may not re-use a team for later in the tournament. Each time your team wins, you survive to the next round, but must pick a new team for the next day. If the team you picked loses, you are eliminated from the pool. The last man standing is the winner!
